Hola hermosa!

I’m so excited to you’re here. So, you want to know a little bit more about me.

To be honest, I don’t find myself interesting at all so this is always so difficult for me.

I was born in El Valle Imperial, California but I spent my childhood in Mexicali, Baja California. I’m the daughter de una mujer Sinaloense, and a dad de Sonora. Growing up with my mom we always spent time together watching las Novelas de las 7pm. When we couldn’t las grababamos en el VCR-some of you aren’t going to have a clue what that is. So, you can say Novelas played a vital part of my childhood.

One thing I do always want my readers to know is that every single character in my books is based off someone I know. Don Chuy, is my dad and his story of how he came to be in the US. Nana Lupe, she’s my actual grandma and yes, she has passed as well. Now, I don’t hate my mother even though she gets on my last nerve-what Latina mom doesn’t- but my life was built on her toughness and the little bit of love she knew how to give.

My adolecencia and teen years I lived in Ponca City, OK & yeah, I became whitewashed and forgot my culture. I moved to Texas in 2014, meet my husband in 2015, and married the love of my life in 2016. My husband has taught me more about our culture and traditions than anyone ever had. I am so grateful to him for that and now I get to share my culture with you all.

How it all started

I have had a love for writing since I was young. My eight-grade year I spent it writing a story that mixed Digimon and Pokémon. That story set my path for my AP English and AP Composition classes in high school. I didn’t know any formal type of writing, but I did dabble in little fanfics here and there-can’t blame a girl if the story she loved ended HORRIBLE.

It took about 15 years or so for me fall back in love with reading, and eventually my desire to write again began to grow.

That was when OFRENDA was born. Originally it was supposed to be that one book and that was it. My passion project was done. But the readers wanted more, and I loved the idea of putting my imagination back to work, thus Los Amos Series was created.

Now, I can’t imagine living the rest of my life without my characters or my reader. I have only one person to thank for that,

Gracias Dios mio que por tu todo es posible.
